Over the past four years, Social Media Camp Victoria has become Canada’s largest social media conference, growing from a few hundred attendees in 2010, to several hundred at last year’s event. It is held at the Victoria Conference Centre in Victoria, BC from May 1 – 3, 2014 with educational sessions, excellent speakers, and keynote addresses from top social media professionals Tod Maffin, Viveka von Rosen, and Julien Smith.
Whether business owner, social media manager, marketer, or entrepreneur, there is something for everyone at SMC. With so many different streams available, there are endless possibilities for you to learn, network, and discover new information and insights. In addition to speakers, there are coaching sessions, an Innovation Zone to showcase up-and-coming technology companies, and this year, they have added a Youth Camp, focussing on teaching safe use of social media for youth 13-19.
There will also be 50+ speakers, sharing their expertise, from The Future Of Digital Community (Hamza Khan) to Shaping a New, Cohesive Brand and Corporate Culture (Gary Mason / Miquel Strother), to Social Media: The CEO’s Perspective (Sage Baker, Tonie Chaltas & Kyle Vucko), to The New Era of Facebook Advertising and What It Means to Social Media Directors with Matt Astifan. Have a look at the 2014 schedule!
I’m looking forward to what is guaranteed to be yet another excellent event, to learn so much my head will be full of new ideas, and to share my knowledge with others. I am also excited to be one of the coaches, and to give some tips on ways for businesses and organizations to use social media as part of a larger marketing strategy, or simply to help figure out what social channels work best for you. Sign up for social media coaching is available on the Coaching page at Social Media Camp’s website.
If you aren’t able to come to Social Media Camp, and you have questions about why a VisualizeSocial Social Brand Manager would be a good fit for your company, please send an email!
